You might be excused for thinking these are flowers. In fact, they are only the five segmented husks that contained budding flowers. The bulge in the center is their seed pod. I wrote about these flowers in Just Another Magnificence posted on the first of this month. It was a hedge near the hospital that had an enormous amount of beautiful white flowers. “It has more magnificent flowers and more flowers on the way than anyone could reasonably count.” It was still in bloom when I stopped dialysis training, but since then things have happened. The ground is now strewn with white petals, millions of white petals, and the primary color of the hedge is once again green, except for what looks like tiny pale blooms. It’s a fascinating process. A process that should be called at the very least manic. A few well placed blooms would do the job, but just in case, it offers millions.
